Referred to LWP?

Most of our new clients are referred to us by our current clients or other professionals, such as CPAs and Family Law and Estate Attorneys. They want their clients, friends and family to invest with wealth managers who work from a fiduciary standard and who always put their clients first.

Tips for Choosing an Advisor

We work with a wide variety of clients, many of whom do not think of themselves as sophisticated investors. We listen first and find out what you need to feel comfortable and in control. While we are not a fit for every person who calls, we strive to help you clarify your needs and connect with the right resources. In addition to our free resources, consider asking the following questions of anyone whose investment advice you may use:

  1. Tell me about how you get paid. Do you charge per transaction, a percentage of assets under management, a set fee or some mix of the above?

  2. Do you accept referral fees?

  3. Do you provide comprehensive financial planning or just manage investments?

  4. When you decide which types of investments to recommend, which standards do you adhere to? Are you a fiduciary advisor, who must always put my interests first or a Registered Representative, who meets the suitability standard?

  5. How will you work with me personally? Will we meet in person? Who will I be working with?

  6. Tell me about your firm. How long have you been in business? What are the credentials of the people who would work with me?

  7. When you make financial recommendations, do you have knowledge of tax, estate planning and other factors that may impact my financial future? How do you work with my other advisors?

  8. What is your account minimum? Does the amount I have to invest make me a smaller client?

  9. Have you ever been disciplined by the SEC or FINRA?

  10. What are your firm values? Here is some information about ours.
