“I have what I call a ‘level mind.’ That is how I describe a scientific and technical mind that also likes to break down very large, complex projects into a sequence. I can look at a lot of data and keep analyzing until I figure it out. Money can be emotional, so I bring this level mind to business.”
After working with two other financial planning firms in Minnesota, Michael recently joined LWP as a Portfolio Analyst. With a Bachelor of Science Degree in Economics and Business Administration from the University of Wisconsin at River Falls, Michael won the Gilbert N. Smith Award for having the highest GPA of all Economics majors.
“When I took my first economics class in college, I understood this was the science of money. Watching the markets, considering options and making recommendations so our wealth managers can help our clients achieve their goals – well, that is a good day at work for me.”
“My mind is always working to improve things,” said Michael. “I like numbers, analysis, trends, and working for a positive result for others. Working in a smaller, more personal fiduciary financial practice that really focuses on good results for their clients is perfect for me.”
In fall, 2019, Michael will begin pursuing his Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) accreditation. This is one of the most highly-respected accreditations for Financial Analysts and globally recognized due to the high standards of the institute that administers it, as well as the grueling process to complete it. The accreditation takes a minimum of three years to achieve and tests the individual on their knowledge of investment analysis, asset management, and ethics.
Michael met his wife Brittany in college. With their dog, Baxter, they recently bought their first home in Richfield, MN, where she is trying to turn him into a musician. A guitar player herself, Brittany recently introduced Michael to his first drum set. Serious about lifting weights with a power cage and deadlift platform in his basement, Michael can squat 315.
