LWP Participates in the NPH 5K Walk/Run

Laurel Wealth Planning team members and friends again participated in the NPH Cinco de Mayo 5K Walk/Run in beautiful Rosland Park on May 4. We were honored to be a Gold Sponsor of this rewarding event which raised more than $18,000 in support of the orphaned and vulnerable children of NPH.

Among the many charities we support, we have chosen NPH due to Laura’s long history with the organization.  She shares, “One of the joys of my life has been working with NPH USA. Nuestros Pequeños Hermanos (NPH, Spanish for ‘Our Little Brothers and Sisters’), is raising more than 3,100 orphaned and abandoned boys and girls in Bolivia, the Dominican Republic, El Salvador, Guatemala, Haiti, Honduras, Mexico, Nicaragua and Peru. An additional 3,100 children who live outside the NPH homes receive scholarships, meals and healthcare. We have visited the NPH homes many times, and believe me, they make a HUGE difference for the most vulnerable children.”

“Ever since I was an exchange student over 30 years ago in Mexico, I have known I live an incredible and fortunate life – and others have no chance to do so. NPH is one of the ways my husband and I share what we have. The photo above features Ben, now age 22 and a commercial plumber, whom we’ve helped support since he was four.”
