Senior Wealth Manager / Founder
“I love the moment when a client shows relief, that sense of peace and organization, the feeling that everything is coming together. They suddenly understand that someone’s watching out for them – someone who cares and knows what they’re trying to achieve. My job is to support them in living the life they want to live, and show them they have ability to dream.”
Laura’s warm, open-minded and down-to-earth style is one reason that clients are drawn to her, and one of many reasons why they stay. She runs a tight ship – no loose threads running amok here – but it’s her absolute dedication to her craft and, by extension, to the livelihood of her clients, that inspires this loyalty.

“I appreciate getting to know clients and their individual situations, their interests and what is important to them. Knowing our clients personally allows me to help them navigate planning options and to assist them in making good decisions. I share the LWP values of being completely accountable to our clients, striving to do my best work, and providing educated and thoughtful advice.”
Saul joined Laurel Wealth Planning in 2013 after working as a Financial Advisor at another Minneapolis firm. Saul decided to join LWP because of our commitment to research-driven recommendations and an emphasis on always putting the clients’ best interests first.

“I was attracted to Laurel Wealth Planning because of our emphasis on the importance of each client. I love being part of an environment that truly values the relationships we are building and a commitment to results.”
Mallory serves our clients in an Associate Wealth Manager role, focusing on meeting our clients’ goals, performing analyses, and advising our clients in her areas of expertise. She also manages our client service processes and personnel, including our client service specialist(s) and paraplanner(s). Mallory works closely with Laura and the team to create the close relationships Laurel Wealth Planning is known for.
Mallory earned her Certified Financial Planner (CFP®) credential in 2018 and her Series 65 license (which licenses a professional to give investment advice) in 2015. She began her career in financial planning in 2011 when she joined Laurel Wealth Planning. Mallory earned her Bachelor’s degree from the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse, graduating with high honors. While at college, she was invited to membership in the Golden Key National Honor Society, National Scholars Honor Society, and Eta Phi Alpha Honors Fraternity. Mallory was also responsible for paying her own college tuition and living costs by working many hours during college at a retail clothing store.
In college, Mallory majored in the liberal arts, specifically in art, due to her interest in the human side of things. She also enjoys the analytical and numbers part of her professional role. She explains, “Helping people is so important to me. As I come to deeply know our clients and what is important to them – and put that together with the numbers – we create a mosaic together that truly fits our client and their preferences. It’s a bit like creating a piece of art, unique to just that client.”
Mallory loves to read books ranging from historical fiction to the Harry Potter series to authors of the 1920s. She also enjoys spending time with her husband, Hank, and their yellow lab, Penny.
Associate Wealth Manager
“I enjoy collaborating on a financial plan as well as implementing it. It is the perfect way for me to utilize my analytical mind and help people at the same time. The high standards to which Laurel Wealth Planning holds itself gives me a strong sense of pride in the work I do. I feel my values align with those held by the individuals at Laurel Wealth Planning and I am honored to be a part of the team.”
Jesse joined LWP as an Associate Wealth Manager. His interest in the profession was sparked during a high school economics course when he participated in a stock market simulation. “The fact that money can go to work for a person was new to me. It almost seemed like one way to realize the American dream. I wanted to achieve this for myself and for others.”
Jesse attended Augsburg College, where he graduated with honors, earning a Bachelor of Arts degree in Finance and a minor in Economics. During college, he was a member of the Augsburg College Track & Field team, serving as team captain in his final season. He was also involved with the Augsburg Business Organization, taking on a role as the Accounting/Finance chair for the group.
When he’s not in the office, Jesse often finds himself at the gym in his effort to stay fit. He enjoys keeping up with all of the local Minnesota sports teams and he especially looks forward to football season. Jesse’s favorite TV show is Shark Tank, but he also has an affinity for the popular Game of Thrones series. Another priority for Jesse in his free time is getting outside, no matter the season, because he enjoys them all!

“I believe in the culture at LWP. We treat our clients with warmth and respect, and listen to their story so we get the big picture. We work with them to personalize the ideal financial plan. Our clients’ interests come first.”
As our Client Service Specialist/Office Administrator, Linda will be one of the first people greeting you with her warm, friendly smile.
She was born and raised in Iowa and attended a community college in Iowa before transferring to Minnesota State University, Mankato. Upon graduation, she moved to Minneapolis and worked in the data collection industry for 10+ years until she left to start a family.
Outside of work, Linda enjoys spending time with her three children, staying active by participating in various events and strength training. She has completed three marathons, many half marathons and other distances, several duathlons, one triathlon and a 12-hour event. During the warmer months, you can find her on the back of a motorcycle for a leisurely ride or a cross-country adventure. She also enjoys cooking, reading and designing jewelry using all different types of beads. She designed the “Beating Breast Cancer Bracelet” in honor of a friend with breast cancer, and has sold 1000+ over the years.
“Our clients are my favorite part of this job. Everyone is so unique. It’s rewarding to see their achievements – whether that’s a new job or the retirement they’ve been planning for, or trips they’re taking, or the fact that they’re getting to spend more time with their family.”
Susan joined LWP in 2008, and is a long-time Paraplanner with our firm. Currently, she works part-time as she balances her dedication to her career and the needs of her young family.
Susan has a strong eye for detail, and accuracy is her watchword. Her key responsibilities include pulling together information before a client meeting, regulatory tasks, and client billing. She has a special gift for process improvement, consistently looking for ways we can serve you better.
As many of our clients will attest after working with Susan throughout the years, her organizational capabilities and knowledge of the business is a great catalyst in ensuring that LWP continues to deliver world-class service to our clients.
Susan has passed the Series 7 and 66 securities exams. Susan graduated from Gustavus Adolphus College, where she earned a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology and Anthropology. She was active in her sorority, Delta Phi Omega, and in service activities such as the March of Dimes and the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Benefit.
In addition to relishing the role of being parents to their young children (Logan and Ellie), Susan and her husband enjoy traveling, particularly to warmer climates in the winter. In the summer, they explore Minnesota, including up north getaways, local lakes and beaches, live outdoor music, and local wineries.
“When it comes to numbers or computers, I’m very detail-oriented. Computers are only going to spit out what you put in – and if you don’t put in what you want, you’re not going to get out what you want. It’s the same with anything I do at Laurel Wealth Planning – I can avoid errors by being attentive to the details.”
Tom is our beloved perfectionist. His ability to focus on the details is second to none, whether he’s researching employee benefits or making sure the company books are accurate. Tom is our Finance Manager, and, with him at the helm in this area, we know that the “t’s are crossed and the i’s are dotted,” maintaining the secure business foundation on which our clients have relied for more than twenty years.
Prior to joining the firm in 2002, Tom worked as a software engineer at Lockheed Martin for thirty years, where he was known for his high-quality work, organizational skills and attention to detail. Tom is also Laura’s “better half” and he was the parent who kept the children and the household organized. The children are now young adults, but Tom still does the family coordination.
Tom graduated from the College of St. Thomas with a Bachelor of Arts in mathematics. He enjoys golf, reading, and spending time with his family. When asked if his math skills help his golf game he explains, “I wish. You can judge the wind, the club, and how far the ball will go, but then a funny thing happens when you swing the club – it doesn’t go where you wanted it to go. For a guy who likes to know what’s coming, I sure shouldn’t like golf. But, my shots must work often enough to keep me coming back, that or the chance to hang out with my buddies.”
